In Ventura County, 9% of 7th graders, 20% of 9th graders and 31% of 11th graders currently use alcohol.We’re coming upon holiday season. Celebrating with family, friends, food and alcohol. It's never too early to start talking about underage drinking. Parents can have a major impact on their children’s drinking. Underage drinking is when anyone under the minimum legal drinking age of 21 drinks alcohol. Children who drink are more likely to be victims of violent crime, to be involved in alcohol-related traffic crashes, and to have serious school-related problems.
